Organizational culture change is noted by Kotler et al. .(1996) noted to be a common aspect of every organization. This is due to the fact that change is the only thing that can be said to be constant in any given organization. Organizational change is often met with a lot of resistance. This resistance can undermine the operations and the performance of any given organization. Kudler Fine Foods Virtual Organization recently had a change in the leadership of its accounting department. The first level manager in this department (Senior Accountant) was fired as a result of involvement in corporate fraud as well as nonperformance. He was however liked by the staff in that department since he was an inspirational figure to most of the junior accounting staff. His departure as well as the introduction of a new team leader and procedures (processes) would no doubt be met with a lot of resistance since it would cause a major change to the organization's culture. There is therefore a dire need for change management within the organization. In this paper we explain the need for this change and the importance of the opportunities it provides. We also explain the four dimensions of change management and how they apply to this situation. A summary of we would use the project management approach to explain how the change will be managed is also provided. This proposal position is then supported with the expected return on investment (ROI).

Change management

Change management is noted by Nickols (2002,p.1) as the making of changes in a managed, planned or systematic manner. It is therefore the systematic approach that is used in dealing with the concept of change from the perspective of an individual or organization.Change management is therefore the art as well as science of making various changes to a given system or method in an orderly and yet systematic fashion.

Corporate fraud is noted by Hassink et al. (2009) to be a major cause of business failure. In order for Kudler Fine Foods Virtual Organization to perform well financially and operationally, there is a need for all cases of fraud to be reduced or be eliminated altogether. The change in the leadership of the accounting department would allow the company to achieve better return in investment since the cases of fraud would be eliminated while the accounting/departmental process would also be streamlined for more efficiency.

This would no doubt cause a major shift/change in the organizational culture. The culture change would affect almost the entire organization since the accounting department is linked with almost all other department within the organization.

The proposed organizational change would involve the modification of the employee expectations, attitudes as well as skills as noted by Robertson, Roberts, and Porras (1993). It would involve a deliberate introduction….....
