Medical and Billing Claims

I certainly do not agree with Tina's way of filling out an insurance claim. In fact, her method appears extremely suspect and potentially noxious to the company that both she and Tim are working for. The reason that I do not agree with Tina's way of filling out an insurance claim form is because she leaves far too much room for error. The fact that she would rather make an educated guess about the veracity of a claim based on unclear handwriting or terms she is ignorant about certainly does not bode well for her career -- or the degree of business that the company she is working for has. The billing and coding specialist position in the medical record field leaves little room for error.

There are a couple of rules or guidelines I would suggest Tina adhere to when attempting to fill out a claim. Since accuracy is absolutely vital for this task, it is necessary that she take the time to look up the particular term that she happens to not understand when she is doing her job. Doing so will not be time consuming at all, and can reap immense benefits as far as the veracity of the forms she is completing.
Additionally, she must make the effort to verify whatever ambiguous handwriting she comes across so that she can also maintain accuracy. She should skip that field or put such a document to the side until she can clarify its meaning.

There are numerous consequences, all of them negative, which can occur should Tina not opt to change the nature of her methods. The wrong insurance company or customer could get billed. Tina's organization could be held liable and possibly sued or lose clientele. Moreover, Tina could also lose her position for the mistakes that she is causing the company to make.

Matsumato's statement about the survival of individuals in society being more dependent upon groups than on those individuals themselves is certainly true. In fact, the very nature of society makes it impossible for any other way for individuals to survive but in groups. Society is a collection of individuals that have come together to be governed in a certain way with certain benefits.
