Cell Biology

Define ATP

ATP is necessary for any cell to produce energy and perform specific actions. This involves using three different compounds that are connected with each other to achieve these larger objectives. The most notable include: C10H16N5O13 and P3.The process enables biologists to understand the way cells function. (Bergen, 2015) (Falls, 2012)

Describe how and where energy (ATP) is generated

The ATP is an enzyme that is used to transport energy to different parts of the cell where it is needed the most. This consists of purine compounds to store and retrieve the energy (via a process known as glycolic). As the food is consumed, this energy is released to numerous regions to perform various functions. The most notable include: the production of glucose, beta oxidation, fermentation, anaerobic respiration and for ATP production / recycling. These areas are important, as they are demonstrating how this helps it to break down minerals and food. Then, transport it to areas where they are needed the most. (Bergen, 2015) (Falls, 2012)

How is cellular energy used?

Cellular energy provides the body with sugar that can immediately enter the blood stream. This helps the person to perform a variety of complex tasks and efficiently utilize the energy it is receiving.
Once this takes place, is the point the body can engage in numerous actions for longer periods of time. (Bergen, 2015) (Falls, 2012)

Compare and contrast 2 energy drinks of your choice in terms of what they are advertised to do for the body and any possible side effects.

There are two different types of drinks that are used to fuel the body to include: energy and sports drinks. Energy drinks is when someone is consuming a beverage. That will offer added amounts of energy and help them to make it through long days (i.e. Red Bull). These drinks contain high amounts of caffeine, vitamins, amino acids and sugars. Sports drinks are focused on hydrating and refueling the body. They contain large amounts of water that are combined with sugar-based derivatives (i.e. Gatorade). In the case of Red Bull, the possible side effects are extreme highs and lows. This is from the caffeine and sugar working together to cause the body to go from periods of alertness to drowsiness. Gatorade refuels the body and it provides energy. However, this can cause the amount of glucose production to increase. Over the course of….....
