Owing to the increase in the number of people within the workforce, this increases the level of demand for employment and as a result, hinders American citizens from seizing jobs. In addition, owing to the resultant decrease in job supply, Americans end up having to settle for lower wages. In turn, this somewhat gives rise to a recessionary gap as individuals within the economy earning lower wages opt to spend less and save more. What is more, another detrimental factor encompasses the resultant tax. The rising illegal immigration is quite costly to the nation's economy as it cannot afford the costs that come about. Majority of the illegal immigrants make use of social programs, for instance, schools and hospitals, which are costly to the American taxpayers and therefore end up increasing the national debt (Davidson).



On the other hand, it is can be argued that immigrants largely benefit the nation economy-wise. Taking into account the immense human costs and legal issues encompassing immigrants, getting rid of millions of workers would also be economically shattering, prospectively giving rise to private-sector productivity to deteriorate by hundreds of billions of dollars. In particular, getting rid of illegal immigrants would have a massive adverse effect on the industries.
