She was bigger than some small children, and her imposing figure sometimes frightened our friends and neighbors. But Moose was harmless; in fact, she was gentler and sweeter than some people I know. She missed us so much when we left the house that she'd always wait by the door and greet us with a wave of affection. Occasionally her kisses were overwhelmingly wet and enthusiastic. She also loved to stand on her hind legs and give us hugs. When people came over to our house, they knew they would be leaving with souvenir traces of her fur.

Her tan and black coat shimmered in the sunlight, and when she ran she looked almost like a doe deer. With such remarkably healthy fur, she really stood out in a crowd.
We brushed her regularly but her beauty was mostly natural. Moose had incredible markings: the black diamond on her forehead was as unique as a tattoo. Even for her breed, Moose's ears were unusually large and perfectly triangular. One of her favorite petting spots was right behind them, where the fur was silky and soft like down….....
