Family Nurse Practitioner

My career objectives, as I apply for a MS degree in the family nurse practitioner field, are to receiving the training necessary to become a qualified, competent family nurse practitioner. This essay reflects those career goals by pointing out what I will be doing as a family nurse practitioner.

My Duties and Expectations

First of all, I am an RN and I originally entered this field because I really care about people and health, and I want to be hands-on in the healthcare / medical field. Nurse practitioners (NPs) work independently of physicians in many instances, which has an appeal to me. That means that I will be able to treat that patient one-on-one and in some cases prescribe necessary medications.
