Ubu Roi

State the story of the whole play (2 sentences max). Ubu ROI is the story of Papa Turd and Mama Turd, who kill the king of Poland, seize the country's riches, and then must face the wrath of Russia and the escaped prince. Papa Turd and Mama Turd display greed, sloth, and absurd notions of grandeur before they are finally routed by the prince and forced to flee on a ship, where they hope to begin the con man type of existence all over again upon landing ashore in the next country.

State the story of Act I. Act I describes how Papa and Mama Turd along with Bordure plot to kill Poland's king. Papa Turd poisons Bordure's soldiers and then the three of them swear to murder the king.

State the story of Act II. Papa Turd kills the king of Poland but the queen and the prince escape. The queen dies but the ghosts of his ancestors appear to the prince and order him to take revenge; meanwhile, Mama Turd and Papa Turd decadently revel in their new wealth, having taken over the kingdom.

IV. State the story of Act III. Papa Turd puts Bordure in the dungeon, but the latter escapes to join the Russian forces seeking to attack Turd. Papa Turd has the nobles murdered and confiscates their property and ridiculously readies himself to face off against the invading forces.

V. State the story of Act IV. Mama Turd wants to find the crown jewels but the prince arrives to chase her out of the kingdom. At the same time Papa Turd faces off against the invading forces but has to flee the battlefield and escape to the caves, where he and his soldiers are attacked by a bear -- which is killed by the soldiers while Papa Turd climbs atop a rock.

VI. State the story of Act V. Mama Turd meets Papa Turd in the cave and they fight after Mama Turd tries to trick Papa Turd into thinking that she is an angel. The two are then chased out by the prince; they find safety aboard a ship at sea….....
