The man is carrying a white piece of paper as well. He seems to be sort of monk. Now the strange bird becomes a metaphor for this character. The viewer can understand that the monks have the role of carrying the message of god on earth. On a closer look, the bird can be interpreted as a birdman. The fact that the birdman is wearing skates means that he is unable to fly on the one hand and that the ground on which he is walking is slippery. The ideas of instability and fear are suggested.
We see a street which passes through hills and valleys and ending in an open area where mountains can be see. In this background we can see fantastic characters such as a fish with a tower on its back. Another character resembles a human but has a strong grotesque yet funny appeal to it as well.

If the side below can be interpreted as the physical world, the one above may be the spiritual one. At this point the spiritual sky is a fantastic mirror for what is happening on earth. The sky is populated by surrealist creatures carrying the saint away. Once again we have a magic fish carrying somebody on his back, another one with a ship on his back. Sky and water become synonymous and the idea of magic is.....
