For example, more use of interactive technologies such as, video, podcasts and blogs could have increased the interaction and depth of the site and the online exhibition.

However there are some informative and laudable sections to this site. One of these is the News section. This area shows how up-to-date the site is terms of announcements about the museum. This section also goes a long way to authenticating the site. While this is not extensive is it informative and provides the site with a sense of immediacy.

There are also other well - presented areas. The various ships are graphically impressive but, once again, the information provided is meager. The site does provide clear and extensive information on access to the museum and contact details. The Guided Tour section however is disappointing. One would have expected a detailed and visual tour of the museum, but this single page only refers one to the offline tour. While the site does succeed in presenting a brief and succinct overview of the story behind the boat, this is not sufficient and only wets the appetite.
Possibly this is a marketing strategy as the site certainly succeeds as an inducement to visit the museum and gain more information. There is little doubt that this is useful site. It is well designed and the material is well presented and follows Web reading standards. On the negative side the site does not provide enough documentation and archival material to be categorized as a useful resource site of the serious historian. It does however function well as an introduction to the subject and the museum and can therefore be considered as an important reference site, both in terms of tourism and historical reference.
