Raj (2009) states that within any social setting, a majority of the people are interdependent and not dependent or independent. In order to get things done, people within a community or an organization would rely on one another to accomplish their various tasks. People who find it hard to accomplish things by themselves are referred to as dependent people. Those who manage to accomplish their tasks on their own without help from others are independent people.
Interdependent people will rely on others and others will rely on them to accomplish their various tasks. Combining individual efforts with those of others ensures that interdependent people achieve greater success by the synergistic effect.
