According to Piaget the child would have to assimilate and accommodate the information in order to not make the same mistake in the future. Assimilation is the process by which a person takes material into their mind from the environment, which may mean changing the evidence of their senses to make it fit and accommodation is understanding the difference made to one's mind or concepts by the process of assimilation (Piaget, 2009).

Social scientists tend to study all aspects of society. They study past events and achievements along with human behavior and relationships. Their research provides insights into the different ways individuals, groups, and institutions make decisions, exercise power, and respond to change (Social Scientists, Other, 2007). Based upon what social scientist do and study it would be very likely that they would recommend that a young couple live together before they get married so that they can become accustomed to each others behaviors and to make better decisions about getting married and living together.
