Improved communication was selected, because these issues are contributing to some of the different errors that have taken place. Training is when you are showing the staff how to trouble shoot, various issues that could occur. Backup systems are designed to create secondary alarms and other fail safes (in the event that one system is not working properly). The oversight for Massachusetts General is the Department of Health and Human Services. The process that they are using to achieve these objectives is: the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety.
