it is not a fix-all and there are consequences inherent to raising the minimum wage too much and/or too fast. As noted in the introduction, the minimum wage has not moved all that much in recent years. It has gotten to the point that there have been times in the not-so-distant past that the minimum wage has been higher than it is now when adjusting for inflation.
