GEOINT is traditionally defined as the analysis of geospatial information to describe and depict physical features and geographically referenced activities on the Earth, but it could certainly be defined anew today.Today, GEOINT can be redefined as an interdisciplinary convergence of spatial science, digital technology, social science, political science, and analytical methods to understand and visualize geospatial data in relation to human and environmental factors. This definition helps to enlarge the scope from mere military and security applications to include areas like urban planning, environmental monitoring, disaster response, and social sciences.There are many other applications for GEOINT as well. GEOINT can play a part in urban planning by providing insights into land use, infrastructure development, resource allocation, and transportation (Sharma et al., 2021). It can be useful in creating smart city models that optimize things like traffic flow, energy consumption, and urban development.
