RESPONSE 2Response 2Susan V.Susan V. selected Dr. Virginia Saba and Dr. Betty Chang as the two innovators who have shown dedication in advancing the nursing profession through informatics. Dr. Saba demonstrates the ability to embrace and champion change. Change is in some instances uncomfortable (Taylor, 2013). Indeed, according to Lunaigh (2017), the ability to not only embrace, but also champion change is instrumental in the nursing realm. As my colleague points out, Dr. Saba came to the early realization that there was an opportunity to solve nursing problems by making use of technology – i.e. via the utilization/deployment of data, data processing, as well as databases. On the other hand, Dr. Chang demonstrates the skill of continuous learning and skill acquisition.
