However, I believe that the need for surveillance and interference is overrated and has outlived its course. We need to pursue newer, more effective means of creating national security. Surveillance and intelligence gathering have their place: in fact, I intend to increase, not decrease the budget spending on improving the quality of our intelligence services. Within ten years we will run a more efficient National Security Agency.

We all know that the main reason the United States of America retains a controlling interest in the Middle East is because of our dependency on fossil fuels. While I know that fossil fuels and the oils and gases they produce are absolutely necessary to run our factories and our systems of transportation, I also know that around the world, scientists are working toward creating more efficient, less destructive, inexpensive and viable sources of energy and power. Solar and wind power are only the beginning of our energy revolution. My fellow Americans, you are about to witness a complete societal transformation: we are on the brink of new discoveries and new technologies that will change the way we live, work, and breathe. Because the technologies our scientists are working on now will create cleaner air for us and for our children.

This is why I am personally dedicated and committed to putting aside our dependence on foreign oil. We will continue to use oil for a variety of purposes for which the substance is necessary. However, our cars will soon be powered not by oil but by hydrogen cells and other alternative technologies. Our homes will be heated by alternative sources, and our electricity will be generated by non-polluting methods.

In addition to what our scientists are producing in the way of new energy technologies, they are also on the brink of new medical discoveries. As president, I will be setting aside monies for the advancement of all sciences, not the least of which is medicine. I foresee healing of AIDS, cancer, and other diseases. In the not so distant future these diseases will be as extinct as small pox or the bubonic plague.

It may take a few years or even a few decades before some of these breakthroughs manifest. That is why in the meantime I am proposing a total overhaul of the American health care system. I am currently working with brilliant minds: the persons who helped European nations design their health care systems to come up with a solution that best fits American lifestyles and values. I believe in free access to medical services for all Americans, and I also believe in free access to education for all Americans. However, I know those dreams are far from being fulfilled. There is a lot of work to do. I know that some of the policies I instate will only be like seeds. I will plant those seeds and tend to them as best I can during the course of my term as president. I will be surrounded by competent and capable cabinet members who will also work hard to promote the vision we all share, a vision for a better America and a better….....
