The IDEO principle of design is based on "intimacy with content." (p. 2). Intimacy with content is achieved via a unique research methodology for artists: immersion. Researching as Givechi, et al. Of IDEO suggest entails gathering visual data but also conceptual data. Consequently, the end result is more relevant to the needs of the end-user.
