Correction System Management in Scotland

Prison superintendents and female prisoners

The prison system in many countries has mostly subject the inmates to absolute control and more so the victims of this institutionalized ills are the women. The masculine sex roles have been stamped into the psyche of the female inmates in a manner that replicates the abuse that exists in abusive relationships, only in this case perpetrated by the prison officials and the superintendents. The prison environment has concentrated more on the implementation of dominance as a policy rather than empowerment. The prison superintendents have emphasis more on the coerced conformity rather ta offering caring and supportive environment hence the female inmates fail to receive the rehabilitation that they need. The ultra masculine sex roles that are imposed on the female inmates can be said to be generally imposed by the superintendents in charge of the prisons.

Special management inmates

The special management inmates are those inmates who have some special need medically and the condition is rare among the inmates or an inmate who has outstanding discipline issues that need to be handled at the individual level. There is nee to know how to handle these kinds of inmates and the care that needs to be taken not to deprive them of basic rights.
There is also need to have a balance that will ensure the other inmates are not interfered with in any way due to the special management inmate.

Prison violence in Scotland

The prison violence that is predominant in Scotland is generally seen to have a source since most of the prisoners are seen to be violent in certain circumstances. This has prompted the analysis of the context of the violence and come up with effective situational management to help increase risk management in prisons. The common violence is seen t hamper the rehabilitation process and instead lead to radicalization of more inmates into hardcore criminals within the prison confines hence need to be handled effectively.

Evolution in prison culture

The prison culture has over the years evolved and the hitherto widely seen institutions of retribution and punishment are significantly changing to institutions of rehabilitation and correction facilities. The inmates across the globe are now seen as potential good people as compared to the historical presumption of them being evil and vile beings who need to be kept away from the general public.
