Security elements in the planning of a variety of infrastructure projects

Significant understanding of the city, its political and social context, and the impact on infrastructure projects is necessary for a success. Many components need to be right to provide a successful project, of which climate change, economic factors, and financing appear to be the most important security elements in the planning of projects. The three are the most powerful forecaster of achievements of projects.

Fiscal restrictions have a significant effect on infrastructure projects. With few exclusions private funding of infrastructure has been relatively restricted, limited mainly to such things as ICT, cost, and some types of renewable energy. Commercial productivity is restricted by the free-rider problem. The public sector's ability to access money often decides the level of the overall investment. Financial restrictions are most executed for aid-dependent low-income nations with low tax rates, and the restricted possibility to access international capital marketplaces (Sorvari & Seppala, 2010). Many nations view public-private partnerships (PPPs) as a means of supporting infrastructure projects. PPPs include private provision of the development and often function and maintenance of an infrastructure project.
