Hotspur considers that being a victor is one of the important things that someone can possibly think about and constantly thinks about winning battles. One can observe how his passion for combat is an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time, as this means that he takes decisions primarily based on his honor. Prince Hal puts more thought in the actions he performs and this yet again proves that he is especially concerned about the consequences of his actions.

Shakespeare wants audiences to develop special relationships with each of the two characters and thus presented them in different episodes of the play in a highlight their personalities to a greater degree. Even with the fact that it is obvious that Hal's character needs to become more organized, most people are probable to feel a stronger connection with him as a result of his warmth, humor, and eventual courage.
It is more difficult for someone to identify with Hotspur because he puts across arrogance and appears to consider that thinking about being victorious is the only thing that he needs to consider before going into battle. Hotspur ambition is actually the reason for his later failure, given that he is unable to realize that the odds of the battle are not in his favor.

In the end of the play both Hal and Hotspur are brought into light by displaying the attitude they have toward each-other. While Hotspur is solely interesting in proving something by killing Hal, Hal is concerned about winning the battle in order to reduce the number….....
