SIGCHI

Summary Description of its Structure and Purpose

SIGCHI is an international society for those that are "professionals, academics and students who are interested in human-technology and human-computer interaction (HCI)" (SIGCHI, 2011). This is done as a means of using a variety of "conferences, publications, websites, email discussion groups, and other services" (SIGCHI, 2011). Through their efforts, education is advanced as a means using tutorials as well as outreach in order to promote access to other organizations. A number of local chapters are available which also includes opportunities to take part in public policy (SIGCHI, 2011). Its Overall "Look and Feel" and Apparent Target Audience

The look and feel of the website is important. When looking at it, one will notice that it has a white background with blue words. This is not very attractive because a site needs some level of appeal. A way in which to make it more appealing is to have more colors and pictures so that individual will want to join SIGCHI.

These help those that are wanting more information in the field of academics. Furthermore, one can learn more about public policy and their email list through this entire process (SIGCHI, 2011).
