Silver Lake ethnic neighborhood of Los Angeles. Silver lake is a hilly located in the east of Hollywood and northwest of Downtown Los Angeles. When walking along the broad way street of the region, it is like Mexico City. This is because everyone speaks Spanish, from the vendors hawking, little girls' partying, dressing code, mode of interaction and the way families conduct their weekly shopping. There are colorful murals, shop for fresh corn tortillas, shopping malls, architecture buildings, studios and handmade tamales. From a distance, there are sounds of mariachi bands the preferred music within the region.

Silver Lake had more women, children and old people because most men and young people are working and searching for jobs in large cities within Los Angeles. The region has a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic groups even though Mexicans dominate the largest part. The region has a high number of electric gatherings consisting of hipsters and creative class as well as the most known modernist architectures in North America. The region inherited its name subsequent to the water board commissioner Herman Silver. Silver Lake has attractive surroundings as it consists of Atwater village on the north, Echo Park on the east and historic Filipino town to the south.

People within Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles closely interact with their neighbors. This is evidence through the communication channels observed in the region. For example, the rate of face-to-face communication among people walking along the streets in the region is high; people gossip in dissimilar settings, they story tell in different gatherings and in the restaurants.

When walking around Silver Lake streets, it comes to realization that the region is among the most socioeconomically and ethically neighborhoods surrounding the city of Los Angeles. This is because it has dissimilar socioeconomic activities going on as well as varying ethnic groups. It is observable that most people in the region are Hispanics and the non-Hispanic whites. The neighborhood also has the East Asians, the blacks and other ethnicities. The languages spoken in Silver Lake vary among people of different age. For example, most Spanish speaking people are old, and this is because they are the real owners of Silver Lake. The remaining part of the population speaks varying languages, which implies that they are foreigners to the region and maybe in search of jobs, education or because of intermarriages.

The configuration of space within Silver Lake buildings is unfamiliar, and observable that different buildings specialize in different activities with people from varying ethnic groups.
