A concise summary of the filmThe film “Bully” is an American documentary about bullying within the United States. It made it debut in 2011 and was received well by many audiences through the country. The film follows the lives of 5 student in the United States who were bullied on a daily basis. The film details the harassment and ultimately, the resulting implications of consistent bullying on their lives. Tyler, a character in the film was particularly touching story. The film depicts him being bullied. The film details incidents where his clothes were takin while he was showering, being forced to leave the looker room naked. In other cased the film depicts incidents where he shoved in lockers and even verbally abused. This ultimately led to Tyler committing suicide at the age of 17. His father found him hanging from a closet.Kelby is a unique situation in which bullying is a result of sexual orientation. Here, Kelby was victim not only within her school but her hometown. The video depicts her struggles as a lesbian with both her school and her hometown.
For example, Kelby recalls times where a minivan full of boys attempted to run her over while she was crossing the street. She even admits to attempting suicide at least three times in her life due to the harassment and abuse by others in society. Even her teachers were involved in the bully and even went so far as to exclude her from events. Kelby showed her resolve in the film by refusing to move and continuing to fight the biases, harassment, and abuse of others in her community. What makes this so appalling is that both adults and students with the community where involved in the bully.
