stresses and challenges facing inmate families, especially children? Children of imprisoned parents suffer the most.

Children whose parents are imprisoned face adverse impacts. Criminal justice system focuses more on the individual guilt than the adversities that are faced by the children. It is important that the criminal justice system should keep in mind the effects that are seen in the children during their parents' imprisonment, release as well as trails and arrest systems. One of the main changes that are faced by the children includes a great change in the attitudes of the society as the children are treated in al ill manner. Being on an outside world, as compared to the world behind bars, the children are treated as inmate facing much harsher conditions created by the societies. When parents are imprisoned, children of the family, no matter how young or how old have to accept the responsibility of their households and the family members. 2. What is meant by the concept that prison rules and their enforcement is gendered? Is this a logical position?

Gendered rules in the prison means that the rules being followed in the prisons are gender biased. There are many prisons in U.S. where women are being detained in prisons that are made for men. It has been reported that the conditions provided in the male detention systems are not in accordance to the female requirements. The criminal justice systems have been already seen to be more male oriented and when the females are sent to the prisons that are basically male penitentiaries, women do not express acceptance to such male oriented system.
