I tried many things to find my aptitude before discovering my enjoyment and proficiency with economics. In Korea, I was first drawn to the game of golf as a profession. I enjoyed the game very much and had great passion for it, but my skill never quite reached the level I desired. I also became quite proficient at playing the saxophone, and even tried the skill of acting for a time, but though I enjoyed these things, they never seemed to be exactly my aptitude. At first, I considered myself a failure for trying so many things without truly succeeding at any of them. The same was true of my college experience in Korea, as I was denied admission to universities several times. But it was only during my experience of these failures that I found my true aptitude with economics in reading newspapers about financial information for my own pleasure. In addition, each of my so-called failures taught me something about myself.

The patience that is necessary in music is know a part of my character, and the honesty and ways of knowing the self that are needed for the skill of acting are also familiar to me. All of these things have helped me to succeed in college and will help me as a financial analyst.

I have always strongly believed in proverbs such as "slow and steady wins the race" and "mistakes breed success." Though I have seemed slower at finding my correct aptitude than some others, yet my steadiness and my determination I believe have grown even stronger over the time it has taken me to find my path to success. Though this might be an unusual way of looking at failure, I still believe it is the correct one, and my success will be stronger and sweeter because….....
