Politics is not an exact science, and you can easily misinterpret facts and easily make erroneous conclusions. In addition to this, political issues don't always have clear-cut solutions. Sometimes they don't seem to have any solution at all. Sydney tries to think out-of-the-box by considering alternatives that are not conventional. Lastly, Sydney is not just an accomplished thinker but also an effective diplomat. She has the skill to communicate her ideas effectively so that others can easily understand them. Some other diplomats tried to reconcile those two countries but failed even though they had good solutions.
Their failure was in communicating with the leader of one side or both. Sydney succeeded in this aspect.

How do you reconcile two countries who both believe they are right? Sydney used her skill in critical thinking to accomplish this.
