This paper is a proposal for an implementation of a change management of a new information system in a business. The paper discusses the steps that ought to be followed when executing an implementation strategy for a new information system in a business organization. The business organization in question is the Coca Cola Company. The areas covered include the role of an information system in a business, the successful integration of the new system into the company's operations, and the way members of staff can embrace the new system for the sake of the company's progress.

The Coca Cola Company information system management

Coca Cola Company is the world's leading beverage company. The company just like the other global companies has adopted an information system as part of its business process objectives (Burgess, S., 2002). The uses of the system range from advertising through their main website and meeting new clients through their internet-based communication platforms. The system is however not sufficient to fulfill all the needs that a company of such stature needs. Therefore, there is a need to develop a new and upgraded information system for the future.

Implementation of an upgraded portal

A well-integrated portal is what the company needs. The nature of the portal is that it should have the ability to allow online purchases and sales to be made. The portal should also keep a database of the records of all past and present clients that the company has had. There should also be an opportunity for the company to allow clients to make orders online, pay for them and receive delivery notifications all at the same platform as part of the online business project (Gates, B. & Hemingway.

Implementation strategy

The following steps will be followed sequentially in the implementation strategy of the new system. There has to be a systematic order and way of implementing as discussed below. The reason for this is because, a system with such complexities requires a lot of concerted efforts and well-calculated steps in order to have it done.

Parallel implementation

In case the company wants to minimize the chances of complete failure, it will adopt the new system to work alongside the old one. This will guard against a situation of total clamp down of business operations in case the new system fails. This dual-system is to work for some considerable amount of time until such a time when the management is assured that there cannot be a total breakdown in the new system. However, other methods of implementation are more desirable than this. Before it gets to this level, there has to be a feasibility study done. Precisely, the following steps need to be followed.

System investigation

This is a feasibility study done initially before the new system is adopted. The management at the Coca Cola Company needs to conduct a thorough study about the feelings and desires of the clients.
