Writing is described as a method of production of text that is complex in nature with writers creating meaning in a way that is relative to the type of the text and their purpose for writing the text. Dynamic is defined as an active involvement in reading and writing pursuits and strategic is defined as a conscious monitoring by reader and writers of their learning. Goal-oriented is described as reading and writing for a specific purpose or with a specific plan. The concept of what it means to be literate. When literacy is traditionally defined, the emphasis is on the learner's capability of reading words however, literacy is, in the present viewed as a tool that enables the learner to participate in a society that is technologically advanced.
