Another appeal that technology has was its ability to undergo synthesis, simply by integrating together different functions to form a technology that is multi-functional. This characteristic is presently demonstrated through Internet technology, where the audio-visual appeal of TV and radio are combined with the depth of information contained in newspapers, forming a new medium where information and audience appeal are taken into consideration and improved.

Lastly, Lenk emphasized the importance of technologies in bringing about the improvement of humanity. The development of technologies and its proliferation made people contemplate and think about the implications that resulted from them. The author's observation showed that humans have become more conscious of their security and privacy as a result of new technologies, not to mention the enhancement and creation of new identities for people using them. Moreover, technological advancement raised new issues such as questions about the distribution and limitations of these technologies, as well as responsibilities that people must have in using them.

These characteristics help establish Lenk's main argument in his discourse, wherein he asserted that technology has significantly improved human life. More importantly, technology paved the way for humanities to enter the highly-rationalized society once again, making people more aware of their worth as individuals rather than 'objects' essential only for intellectual development and improvement and development of technologies.
The author explicated carefully on this point, stating that, "...technology is no longer only an instrument, but....a world-making factor...Proportionate with this power, human responsibility ought to be increasing...a new context demanding ethical awareness seems to be evolving, and it calls for new ethical rules."

This passage reflected the author's vision of how technology can be used as a benefit and constructive cultural product will help people be "aware of intricacies and conflicts, of the complicated interplay of values and norms...responsibility or freedom of decision-making and acting." These are the conditions necessary that signifies the achievement of a truly better standard of living in the age of techno-capitalism......
