Tobacco is a plant which belong to the nightshade family, which also include potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant and red pepper. Whoever the concentration of nicotine in these vegetables is lower compared to Tobacco.

Tobacco smoking has been shown to be unhealthy as it has proved to be the leading cause of preventable deaths in United States, killing more than four hundred thousand people and costing nearly $100 billion in health care bills every year, research shows that nearly all smokers start before the age of 18. Everyday 1000 become regular smokers while one-third of who die prematurely.

Research has also shown that it takes long time of constant smoking to actually become dependent to nicotine. People like the effects of nicotine and get used to them making them to desires it more, smokers think tobacco help them to reduce stress, anxiety and controlling their appetite. Tobacco used can be controlled as well as preventing the deaths caused by the use of it. Tobacco is a product which should be burnt from consumption in United States as it does not only boost the economy but also has numerous impacts on the citizens.

Tobacco has an impact on the growth of food as less land is available for food crops. Even though tobacco growth is rotational tobacco growing is rotational, with different crops being planted in alternate years, tobacco soil is prone to wind and water erosion which means that soil which has been used to grow tobacco is sometimes unsuitable for food crops.

Tobacco has a high impact on health; Research shows that a person dies every ten seconds from tobacco -- related causes.

Tobacco is also harmfull to the development of the economy as smokers tend to spend their time smoking, consuming the time which is meant to work; also the smokers tempt to lose weight and appetite becoming unhealthy giving less effort in their fields. Smoking also led to early menopause, osteoporoses, fertility, menstrual problems, decrease fertility, impotence among men as well as children suffer from the secondhand smoke that is let out by smokers this leads to shortage of manpower in future generation and in nation.
