To be aware of the safety rules for operating the ribbon-cutting machine in three minutes.

This statement is problematic because it does not include a performance objective; being "aware" of the rules is not the same as applying those rules. Furthermore, it sounds like the trainee is supposed to become aware of the safety rules in three minutes. Is that what is intended, or is it intended to say that the ribbon cutting machine should be operated in three minutes? Given a personal computer, a table and a chair, enter the data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.


The performance is "enter the data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet," but there are no criteria. Enter what data? How much data? How fast?

The performance criterion is to use the Web. However, the remainder of the statement is too vague. What training practices, and learn what, specifically, about them? There should be some measurable….....
