Despite the general strength of this book there are some weaknesses. Since the focus of this book is personal evangelism, he lacks the cohesive discussion of how organized evangelism should occur and how it fits within the holistic paradigm. By only talking about the personal evangelizing efforts, we do not have enough insight into what Metzger believes we should act as a body. By ignoring this aspect of evangelism, Metzger fails to give the significance of having a solid congregation of believers to support the newly converted and lend their strengths to the development of the Whole Person.

There are many other books that deal with the theme of evangelism. One such book is John Blanchard entitled "Is Anybody Out There?" This book differs from "Tell the Truth" in that it is less a directional book rather than a book that seeks to answer questions related to the scripture. This book is very different in that it looks at the keys related to growth and how to discover God in our lives.

Although it is the same genre as Metzger's book it differs both in tone and in content. Alexander Marshall's book "God's Way to Salvation" is also an evangelical look at how witnessing should occur. This book however deals too explicitly with how to use effective means of conversion. The focus here is on how to convert rather than how we should convert, and thus it is much more pragmatic than Metzger's "Tell the Truth."

In the final analysis, "Tell the Truth" is one of the most inspirational books that I have read because it tells us how personal evangelism should be conducted rather than the most effective methods. This book carefully examines how witnessing should not deviate from the methods of the gospel and how evangelists should speak-based within a paradigm to create conversions of the Whole Person.
