Tschinag and Groddeck

The journal entry that was read provided insight to the understanding of what poetry is supposed to be. As was written, there is a sense of confusion to the true meaning of poetry. When the post states, "I had always believed poetry to be authentic," I also believed those thoughts to be true in the superficial sense. Poetry has to be authentic if it comes from one's own thoughts about their world. Poetry is a method of expressing oneself in figurative and imaginative ways. Just as was said, Shakespeare is the first person thought of when considering poetry written about love and vengeance. It is a sense of romanticism that no longer seems to exist, and that no other poet since then has been able to successfully replicate. I agree with the post's ideas of poetry being difficult, and sometimes seemingly impossible to comprehend. It provided me with a sort of relief to know that I was not alone in thinking that poems can be read one way but may have been intended to be understood in another way.

When it comes to nature's involvement in poetry, I too had to take a step back and really analyze what the author of the particular poem was attempting to put forth.

I agree with the post and its interpretation of Groddeck and Tschinag's view on nature and poetry. It is nature, and one's own interpretation of the world around us that make the writing of poetry possible.
