U.S.' Preparations and Ability to Counter WMDs

The United States of America, as the world's superpower faces a myriad of challenges in the world relating to security. Notably, most people who have been taking the greatest payment for adversity from terrorism are the citizens of the United States. Some of the major challenges are from the fact that the United States has always been involved in fighting the armed insurgency in the world. Through this, they have ended up building enmity with all the sympathizers of these enemies. The enmity has gone more severe after the war took a religious angle. Muslims and Christians have found themselves at loggerheads courtesy of terrorist insurgencies (Martin & Gibbons, 2011).

The more dangerous part on this is the existence of dangerous weapons that are likely to bring much harm to humanity. Mostly, some of the insurgents have moved to the most deadly weapons of mass destruction so as to counter the huge efforts staged by joint militaries against them (Alexander, 2011). They have resorted to the weapons of mass destruction to compensate for the fact that they do not have sufficient human capacity to the war compared to the legitimate soldiers.

Nuclear weapons are the latest introduction to the war against terrorism.
