One of the other things that I understand about nursing is that much of nursing is routine patient-care, such as changing linens and working with patients to order meals. I have spoken with some nurses that said that the mundane nature of some nursing tasks can lead some people to underestimate the professional skills and abilities of nurses. I am interested in hands-on experience with these types of duties, so that I am proficient in them when I begin my career as a nurse. I believe that it would be difficult to establish and maintain a professional reputation if I began my career struggling with basic tasks. However, I also understand that these basic tasks play a critical role in patient management. Changing sheets is not only about patient comfort, but also patient health.
