Climate Geopolitics

The international political solutions to climate change may not be very feasible and practical in their implementation since the issue of climate has now been turned into a political wand to sway voters one way or the other. This then means the solutions suggested are personal beliefs or party beliefs towards handling the climate change. The challenge then comes when the individual or the party ceases to be in power and a rival comes into power, one who does not prioritize climate issues, then it means that earlier efforts will be neglected and reversed. The private and the NGOs are more likely to inform the climate change agenda since they often have the vision that guides them regardless of who is at the helm of the organization.

The few high polluters need to be presented with the historical data of the cost of climate change and the devastation it has visited on the globe. With the tangible practical data it will be clearer to the polluting industries that the resources that they badly depend on are at the brink of extinction if they do not increase the stamping out of greenhouse gasses.

3. The issue of climate change is central in the current political debate and both the democrats and the republicans believe that global warming is real and is here. However, the difference comes in with the democrats believing that the global warming has increase from 70 to 72% since 2001 to 2008, while on the other hand, republicans believe that the global warming actually decreased by 13%age points during the same period.

The best incentives that the developed nations can give the developing nations to curb emissions is the availing of highly subsidized industrial products which will mean the developing nations will not need to heavily emit greenhouse gasses in the process of manufacturing their own. In as much as it is not fair to limit the development of the developing countries, there is need to embrace reality of the global warming and even consider engagements that lead to foreign manufacturing of different goods products then repatriating them back to the….....
