Assessments are an important part of childhood development and there are multiple models that can add knowledge and understanding towards a child's development for both teachers and parents. It is important, if resources are available to present a balanced assessment of the child's development that may include both formal and informal approaches.

Each organization is unique and has its own way of doing things. These methods should be respected and understood before making widespread changes.
