In spite of all that negative effects of Wal-Mart, those that have promise and stick with Wal-Mart are laughing all the way to the bank on payday with store managers earning $95,000 (including bonuses) on an annual basis and managers at Supercenter managers. It should be said that long hours are required in fact, usually over 80 a week and an individual better be ready to relocate if need be.

All of this is good and fine in an idealistic world, where supplies are endless and everyone is the society is in a state of balanced advantage and opportunities. However, in the "real" world where mom and pop in their later years, employers of 25 other no longer trainable labor workers are put out of business, then the scales of justice are tipped. One reason that the impact from Wal-Mart has been so great is because of the quick expansion of Wal-Mart as its tentacles have quickly woven across the U.S. choking off the lifeblood of the mom and pop businesses in a world that is short on resources as well.

The effects do not stop simply with job loss but spreads costs to the community and individual worker through lack of insurance to it's worker due to the low wages it pays causing worker to choose between either feeding their family or having health insurance coverage. According to statistics presented by the Employee Benefit Research Institute in Washington, only 44% of Wal-Marts employees are covered by Wal-Mart's health insurance option with the average percentage among big companies being that of 66%.

Conclusion:

The only hope that this economic community can recover from the "Wal-Mart effect" is in the negotiation of benefits for Wal-Mart workers as well as find some means of "making" Wal-Mart treat its' third-world" employees in a fair and humane way. There exists several initiatives toward this purpose and the hope is that an effective means of bringing Wal-Mart into alignment can be found. Wal-Mart should idealistically be in an active seeking of a means of positive integration into the economic community in balancing the impact and affects of its company upon world economics......
