Whole foods are without a doubt healthier, safer, as well as a smarter choice when compared to their typical counterparts, which are grown with artificial pesticides and growth hormones. Whole Foods Market co-CEO Walter Robb said, "the food industry is going through a "tectonic shift," as the millennial generation drives a push toward greater transparency and sustainability when it comes to what they eat (Kowitt, 2015, 1)." In the U.S., the sales of whole produce have greatly risen, increasing to $24.4 billion in 2001 from $3.6 billion in 1997. Customers are inclined to pay extra, not only to be more environmental friendly, but also healthier.

Whole foods market, long ridiculed for what some say is over-charged organic fare, is taking the hint. The head natural and organic grocery chain, experiencing new competition and slowing sales development, intends to court the extremely charged millennials and their foodie tastes with lesser, value-centered stores commencing in 2016. However, the arrangement revealed, lets buyers and industry observers quenching for further details. The Austin, Texas-based seller has not mentioned where the stores shall be located, or even their names, but mentions that it is already discussing leases and coming up with a team exclusively focused on the new idea. John Mackey, the Co-CEO, mentioned during a conference call that the stores shall be unlike anything, which presently is existent in the marketplace through the provision of Whole Foods with quality standards at value charges.
