Winter Scene

It is nighttime and the breath can be seen outside. The cold crisp air that enters the lungs, brings with it the warm memories of holidays gone by. The house sits back on a quarter acre lot with woods to the right and a barn to the left. The moon is full, which lights the yard so that the freshly fallen snow glistens as if it were covered in glaze. The air is as silent as the song Silent Night, implies. There is a holy feeling when one stands before the house, views the white winter snow and counts the stars in the crisp clear sky. Taking steps interrupts the serenity because the snow crunches underneath the snow boots, but it is a sound that contributes to the understanding that winter has embraced the family.
