Financial institutions, companies, and NGOs are discovering the impact that can be made by extending different forms of entrepreneurial assistance to women startup businesses, such as micro-credit, or small loans, Meerut Seva Samaj demonstrates the way that Indian women, particularly those in rural areas are able to become successful businesspeople with the support of such resources as technology and training. MSS also gives area communities the opportunity to use biogas (gas from organic matter), which is a safe environmental energy source for improving the environment and fertility of land in rural areas.

These above two examples show that education and training are an important way for women to continually improve their status.

However, it is clearly recognized that a "one-shot deal" will not resolve this problem of discrimination. More importantly, women need to become a part of the economic development process, itself, and look for ways that they can improve their situation over time. It cannot be left up to the men to determine how to improve the lot of women. This only perpetuates the hierarchal system that brought women to this lower level in the first place......
