But Emma's not my best friend anymore. Over the summer, she changed. People say she's getting 'older' and growing up, but I don't see how staring in the mirror all of the time and obsessing about clothes and makeup makes you a grown-up. Now, according to Emma, I'm a total loser because I wear socks. Somehow, I just didn't get that memo. So, instead of Emma, I have Wheeler Diggs following me home from school to hang out with my dad.

I guess being a grown-up is making lemons out of lemonade. So even though I can't get to Carnegie Hall -- yet -- I've been trying to practice, practice, practice on the Perfectone as hard as I can. There is a competition known as the Perform-A-Rama. I've been trying to take it as seriously as possible, even though it's hard to take playing the theme songs to my father's favorite television shows seriously.

At least my father seems to have cheered up a bit, now that he gets to hear Green Acres every day. Now he's focusing on how I've been progressing in my 'music' instead of taking adult education courses from Living Room University in how to be a boxing coach. And Wheeler isn't so bad -- heck, when he and my father are together, the two of them are the Vladimir Horowitzes of the kitchen. So, even if my father isn't the greatest boxing coach, if you want a maple tart, you can drop by my home any time you're in the area.
