There is a similar goal in the "Thriller," but with the annotation that Michael Jackson also aims to follow the story line and, at the same time, create sensations for the listeners. The musical piece is called "Thriller," so the music has to communicate a message that would occasionally intrigue, even frighten the listener. If one remembers the video clip, there is always that suspicion existing in the air. Since the video clip is not always available, these sensations need to be transmitted through the music.

When listening to Bach's piece, one has the feeling that his music is more universal and atemporal than Michael Jackson's music. One can listen today with the same pleasure to Bach's Brandenburg Concerto no.2 as to a musical piece that was not written 300 years ago, but rather only 25, as Thriller was. There is nothing tedious throughout the entire piece of the classical music, which is also very balanced and calm for the listener.


The "Thriller" musical piece is more dynamic and the listener is somewhat more agitated, although not necessarily in a negative manner. The listener is almost transposed in the storyline that Michael Jackson presents in the background. From a musical perspective, this song is also remarkably rich in the diversity of musical instruments: some of these are modern, like the synthesizers and, maybe, also the saxophones, while others are classical, such as trumpets. On the other hand, the presence of synthesizers, clearly heard throughout the song, may be another reason for which the song by Michael Jackson seems to belong more to a certain period of time, the modern one, than Bach's Brandenburg Concert No.2 does......
