By definition, getting accepted early (or late) to a college is not “normal” since it deviates from the average ages (17 to 19 years) for admission, but getting accepted to college early is not “abnormal” in the sense that something is wrong. In fact, there are around 450 colleges that accept early admission applications from students but there are some caveats involved that should be taken into account before applications are made to these schools. For example, if students apply to one of these early admission colleges, they are prohibited from submitting applications to others and if they are accepted, they must attend that college. There are some other factors that should be considered as well, including whether students are academically prepared for the more rigorous curricular offerings in college.
