In terms of the mental development, video game offers negative effects to the brain activities. To reiterate, video gaming, if not dealt properly, is addictive. As the teens play this game for a number of hours, growing to days and even months, they will be tempted to skip school classes or reviewing times at home. The teens' minds will always be glued to how they can perform bettering the video game, and not on the school. They will soon forget their responsibility in school, in a way that they will opt to play the games instead of doing their home works.

Psycho-social aspect of the teens can also be negative affected by video gaming. It should be noted that video games can be played by single person and can be done inside the four corners of the room. If the teen has become so addicted to playing video games, he/she will have the tendency to just stay inside his/her room and just play with his/her own video game. The teens will opt to be left alone, so that they can play alone. Interaction and/or communication between people are actually not promoted in video gaming. This will result in the teens' lower communication and socialization skills.

Such impact of video gaming to the teens can be expected to happen to the Chicano youths. As stated earlier, Chicano youths are very vulnerable to temptation offered by various forms of media. If they will learn and start playing video games, Chicano youths will soon disregard their passion for sports. They will consider video gaming as their own form of sports, even if it is not.

Moreover, because of the negative thoughts implied in the video games, like killing, causing physical, mental and emotional harm to some, etc., Chicano youths will also adapt these thoughts. They will soon consider these forms of violence as normal part of living. Their faith and strong commitment with their religion will tarnished and/or soon fade.

Lastly, Chicano youths' love for learning will also be affected because of video gaming. Like what normal teens tend to do, Chicano youths will also learn how to skip classes or to prioritize the game instead of their home works. Suffice it to say, Chicano youths will have lower educational achievements because of them, being addicted to video gaming......
