2. What is the impact of Bachman's five building blocks of healthcare consumerism for health care managers?

Healthcare consumerism is thus changing the health benefit strategy of employers into one that vest the price and also the decision making power with the consumers. It involves the provision of relevant information and all support to make the decisions they actually require, of course with financial incentives, rewards and advantages that enhance the personal association with variation in health and the purchasing patterns in healthcare. Healthcare consumerism is free from the plan design. Healthcare consumerism associates the scope to accumulate funds through shared savings. It is the plan wherein members can be financially rewarded for performing the correct activities that enhance their health and surplus money. The incentives incorporate the actions like involvement in wellness assessment, compliance with an environment management program such as medicine administration, dieting, office attendance etc. And maintaining of good health attributes like cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI and nicotine application. Bachman's five building blocks enable the health care managers ensure higher incentive towards healthcare consumerism.

Many of the research studies state that those who adopted the 'consumer driven health care plans' have felt positive outcomes from enhanced application of preventive care services and over the year lower health care cost transitions. (Bachman, 2006)
