Ethics in business has a human aspect and is directly related to the success of any business. This therefore means that corporate leaders in organizations have to be very careful about the ethical conduct of their business and how they address any ethical problem that comes up. This paper will look at the code of ethical conduct for a selected company.it will give a description of key areas of the selected company's code of conduct that have a significant importance to the business.it will also give an explanation of the key steps the company should take in order to ensure that its employees follow this code of conduct. Finally suggestions will be given on ways through which the company can take part in socially responsive activities within he community where it carries out its operations.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a restaurant that is committed to very standards of integrity in all activities it engages in at the same time complying with both the letter and spirit of the law.it is the expectation of the restaurants leaders that these standards are reflected in the day-to-day dealings of the employees on behalf of the leadership. The restaurants code of conduct is therefore meant for all the employees, officers and even the members of the board of directors. The code of conduct acts as a guide to ethical behavior for the operations of the organization. Chipotle has in place an open door policy when it comes to concerns regarding compliance with the code of conduct as well as other policies within the company hence no one is subject to any disciplinary action or other retaliatory action if they raise any concern in good faith.

Key areas of Chipotle's code of conduct

One area of the company's code of conduct is their integrity statement; chipotle is an organization that is founded and has its basis on integrity. Integrity is all about being honest and real hence doing the right thing even when there is no one watching. These are the values that permeate the way those within the company do or do not their business. Everyone is expected to apply good judgment and at the same time adhere to high standards of ethics and avoid any situation that can lead to any perceived or actual conflict between an individual's personal interest and those of the organization. Chipotle requires that any transactions that an individual within the organization takes part in should be ethical, and within law, in both spirit and letter. This area of code of conduct is important as it helps in how individuals go about their duties within the company .if they carry out the business with integrity and apply good judgment in their operations then the organization will register success (Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. 2010).

A second key factor in the code of conduct for the company is protection and use of the company's assets. This requires that individuals do not use the property of the company, information or their position for their won personal gain and neither should they use assets or labor for their own individual gain as well.
