The large business units expand their operations in global markets through their own presence as well as franchising and distributors. The business operations are expanded on the basis of various standard practices. The business freedom provided by countries and various global practices are utilized as a basis for taking global operational decisions. The business also encounters various legal, operational, and ethical issues related to the local market. However in order to expand business beyond borders and physical boundaries of countries it is required to maintain a degree of uniformity in products and ethical practices followed throughout the manufacturing processes. It is advised to understand various aspects of international business requirements, global operations, ethical practices, and recommendations to assert a standard for global ethical business operations.

International Business Requirements:

The global business can be expanded and operated through reasonable business freedom provided through government policies, international bodies, and local business practices. It is also required to have adequate amount of infrastructure and information technology facilities. The international bodies operating for setting up polices for global business should also provide adequate support through business friendly policies. The establishments including World Trade Organization (WTO) and International Standardization Organization (ISO) also plays a significant role in developing synchronized polices for global business entities. The businesses develop a sustained presence in the markets through steady flow of materials and human resources. The essentials for global business are derived through local market capability to provide a reasonable amount of financial and infrastructure support. The global economy operates on principles of competition. Therefor one of the essential bases for global business operations is global orientation. The amount of information available in the local market and its alignment with the international business practices provides adequate support for development. The ease of resources availability in local market and openness in business culture are also essential elements of global business operations (Beer, 2010).

The global market takes advantage of advanced communication technology. The small firms and global business players value a standardized economic and social model. The business operating in global markets encounter various issues that are not applicable for local business units. These issues include economic standards as well as ethical differences. The economic and ethical standards are different in almost all business markets. The large multinational organizations exploit these differences and manipulate for their standards in order to gain advantage. It is widely observed that businesses operating in different markets follow a localized mix of ethical standards. It is mainly due to the local influence and value system of the corresponding market.

The globalization as a whole paradigm has increased over the past years. The reasons for the increase in globalization reveals that the phenomenon is not only limited to the expansion of multi-national large organization. The developing countries also pose a low check on the international business in order to provide those facilitating grounds for operation. The companies also take advantage of the economic situation in a market and exploit it for their advantage. The ethical standards in various business markets also differ according to the market outlook. The businesses in United Sates and United Kingdom do not encourage exchange of gifts. However in East Asian markets it is considered as a means to develop business relations. Hence a cultural constraint is also present in developing universal business practices. The ethical imperialism refers to right of people to decide about the issues of business conduct. The local conditions are also applicable for businesses however they should be aligned with the global business ethical practices. The large multinational organizations are often criticized for following a dual standard for business practices in developing and developed markets.

The global business requirements change in accordance with the expansion and business operations in various markets. The changes occurring through global business expansion is observed in terms of fair wages and working conditions. The contemporary business practices tend to introduce a socially viable relationship between management and employees. The ethical values of a business are also encouraged through a competitive consumer environment. The awareness carted through information technology requires a business to adopt high ethical standards through the global market. The ordinary employees are able to understand their limitations and requirements for positive working conditions. The globalization has also required business to increase transparency and as a result ethical audits are also introduced. It leads to a business values are followed in operations. The global business expansion requires a considerate amount of environmental ethics and corporate social responsibility programs are also required to operate in local as well as international markets. The cyber and IT related while collar crimes are increased due to an increase in globalization. It should also be tackled on legal and ethical grounds. The popular programs introduced through globalization of business operations also include a work life balance program and healthcare ethics followed in corporations (Beer, 2010).
