No partnership can ever exist for long without the mutual beneficence of both parties. I expect to get a lot out of Howard University, and in a very real way this will also be my biggest contribution to Howard's legacy. There are few if any things more noble than the unbiased and open education of an eager mind. I possess the latter, and am of the firm belief and hope that I can receive the former at your institution. When I carry that away with me at the end of my time in Howard's halls, I will be bringing it out into the world where it cannot help but let itself be seen in the pride and care with which I handle my work and the world around me. I am willing to work very hard and sacrifice whatever necessary to receive the best education possible.
