The article that was chosen was called "Veteran Status and Marital Aggression: Does Military Service Make a Difference?" By Christopher Bradley. So give a brief summary of this article it needs to be understood that the previous research was what had initiated this study in the first place. The previous research that got this article rolling was the fact demonstrated that the rates of domestic violence are much higher among couples where at least one person is on active duty. The thing that is considered to be a little unclear is whether or not the inclination to participate in domestic violence remains after a person has left the military and entered into veteran status. The resolve of this study was to assess whether or not veteran status will increase a person's tendency to involve in acts of domestic violence. This article sums up the fact that through the utilization of cultural spillover theory, the dispute can be made that the results of military re-socialization will continue even after being separated from active duty service, and that veteran status will donate to domestic violence that happens in a marriage. This article sums up the point that study of the National Survey of Families and Households Wave I dataset is what permitted for a contrast of the rates of domestic violence that is among veterans and non-veterans to see if veterans are more probable to involve in domestic violence, net of relationship stressors fighting exposure, and other statistical controls. This articles summed up the fact that the data that was displayed showed that male veterans are in fact less likely to participate in an incident of domestic violence as equaled to civilians with no preceding military experience; on the other hand, once other factors are accounted for, this connection turned out to be non-significant in the study.

A popular media source article that was chosen was called the "Ecologist wants to change the way we study sex:; Gender issues, sexuality need more research: written by Kim Vo out of the Charleston Gazzette. To give a brief summary regarding this article, it talks about how ecologist want to modify the way that people study and actually look at sex. This article is basically saying that sex is not talked about enough in all walks of life and that more research needs to be done on it and taught in the universities. The author believes there really is not enough adequate research out there. Roughgarden is an associate of the Committee on Cultural and Biological Diversity. The article make the point that The committee has introduced a yearlong conference in which all of the professors and students are considering various topics like female masculinity and the ecological features of gender and sexuality.

Th article makes the point that the series of discussions are the first steps to determining what, if any, new gender and sexuality services that Stanford would need to provide. Basically, most of the Committee members are the ones that say a new program - whether it's a minor, major or research center - would be basically different from queer- studies courses obtainable at most universities for the reason that the academic scope would contain the study of animals in addition to humans, and would highlight on scientific, legal, cultural and program features.

The author in such a course is much needed, Roughgarden argues, for the reason that the topic of sexuality is so established in society. He makes the point that as a society we maintain over whether the Boy Scouts and military should permit gays, whether churches should wed same-sex pairs and then if insurance should take care both spouses, and whether sex changes are a medical requirement. Nevertheless there is little research to support or counter the claims made on both sides, according to Roughgarden.

As far as what these two articles have in common, it would be safe to say that sex is the common bond. Both talk about how sexuality has changed the way we look at people and also how sexuality has changed society. In both articles it brings up the point how sex can be exploited in negative ways as well as some positive ways depending upon the people.

Also, both of the articles are similar because they bring out in the open the hidden things about sex that nobody really wants to talk about. One article pushes to make sure that sex is being talked about and studied more whereas the other one is zealous about making sure that sexuality is discussed to educate people about sex in marriages.

As far as the differences, there are many because one article talks about information that is not being recognized as far as sexuality. For example, it brings up the point of the fact that some things that are missing from the literature. One of those things is an examination of whether or not the predisposition to involve in intimate relationship violence increases, decreases, or remains constant once a person has exited military service (Bradly, 2007). The other article, "Ecologist wants to change the way we study sex:; Gender issues, sexuality need more research" was different because the authore argues over the point that sexuality whether it be in marriges or military or any other walks of life needs to be talked about more. It is a different from the other article because it argues that there is a lack of information on the topic for anybody to learn anything. With the other article, there is a lot to learn from because it expose the sexuality and maritial relationships in the military.

The other article makes the point such a course in the universities is much needed, Roughgarden argues, for the reason that the topic of sexuality is so widespread in society. this artilce is different from the other one because it expalins that diversity needs to be discussed when it comes down to gender and race and that it is not talked about like it would need to be. This article is different from the other one because it brings up Roughgarden, who discusses in her upcoming book, among other things, how societies and other cultures are impacted when sexuality is not talked about.

This article is different from the other one because the author is more especially interested in how genders express themselves when it comes to their sexuality. For instance, there are birds, fish and lizards that have three versions of male within the same species, she said. Within the same species, she said, the males have different sizes, colors and birth and death rates (Vo, 2002).

Veteran Status and Marital Aggression: Does Military Service Make a Difference?" does not mention some things about genders expressing themselves when it comes down to their sexuality but not as much as the other article.

The value of the consumer reading each article really depends on what they are looking for. It is clear from the article from Bradley regarding marital regression that a customer would learn that the body of work on domestic violence is almost silent on the influence that military service has on episodes of close violence after a member of the military has left active duty service (Bradly, 2007). They would learn that at present, almost 13% of all persons over the age of 18 are veterans (Richardson and Waldrop 2003). The customer would happen to understand that for that reason, the disappointment to account for this unique facet of the human experience leaves our accepting of the mechanisms that may donate to domestic violence incomplete.

The cons associated with the way each presents the information is interesting. In regards to Vo article she appears to do a lot of chastisement in here article more than just bring in the information to the audience. For example, she mentions that students want more academic venues to search gender and sexuality subjects, and she got this information from the director of the gay, lesbian, bisexual center on some the college campus of Stanford. However, she does not go into detail in explain what she meant. She does go on to explain that Stanford has done a good job giving support services and social chances for students, and then mentions that "I see a real hunger for academic venues - teaching opportunities, courses, research opportunities - so they can look at the range of issues which touch on their personal lives." (Vo, 2002). However, she could have got some interviews from the students on campus to get their point-of-view in regards to sexuality.

In Bradley article, although he did come up with plenty of statistical information, he did not go into much detail in.....
